Northern Tier Sports ReportHUGHESVILLE — Wyalusing fell to Hughesville, 64-27, during the Spartan’s Girls’ Basketball Tournament title game on Tuesday.
Hughesville jumped out to an 18-5 first quarter lead and never looked back.
Alysha Botts and Jenna Morningstar were named to the All-tournament team. Botts had 10 points in the contest, while Morningstar netted eight.
Liz Kilmer added three, as Brinley Sterling, Treanna Nickeson, and Emily Johns all scored two points.
Maddie Smith had 18 points for Hughesville, which saw eight different players see the ball go through the hoop.
Morningstar had both Wyalusing buckets in the first quarter, and things got better in the second as they netted nine points - behind five from Botts - but found themselves down 33-14 at the half.
Hughesville out scored them 17-4 in the third quarter to pull away.
Wyalusing (3-5) travels to Canton on January 5.
