Northern Tier Sports ReportWYALUSING — Wyalusing jumped out to a 13-1 first quarter lead and held Wellsboro at bay from there for the 60-33 win during NTL girls’ hoops action Wednesday.
The Hornets tried to rally in the second, though the Rams led 30-15 at the break. A 22-10 run by the Rams in the third sealed the door shut.
Four different Wyalusing players hit double figures, led by Alysha Botts’ 17. Liz Kilmer hit four 3-balls en route to a 14 point night, with Emily Johns netting 13, and Treanna Nickeson adding 10.
Jenna Morningstar notched four, as Chloe Whipple rounded out the scorers with two.
Ady Frantz had 11 to lead the Hornets.
Johns powered Wyalusing’s first quarter run with eight of her team’s 13 points.
In the second Wyalusing got a pair of 3-balls from Kilmer, while another out of Botts, to out score the Hornets 17-14 for the 15-point lead at the half.
Botts, and Nickeson combined for 13 of their 22 points as they extended their lead to 52-25.
Wyalusing (5-5) will look to get over .500 as they host NP-Mansfield on Friday with a 7:30 p.m. start.
