SULLIVAN COUNTY USES BIG THIRD QUARTER TO DOWN SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT (2026-01-07)

LAPORTE — Sullivan County used a big third quarter run to takedown South Williamsport, 61-49, during boys’ hoops action Wednesday.

South led 24-23 at the half when Sullivan went on a 19-6 run in the third to go up 42-30. The two teams were even at 19 each in the fourth.

Lucas King had 19 points, seven boards, and three steals to lead the Griffins, while Tucker Blasi added a season high 17 points on 7-for-10 shooting, to go with three steals, and seven boards.

Cayden Smithkors finished with 12 points, and eight boards, as Dom Marotti finished with seven points.

Jaiden Moore, and Colin King had three points apiece, with Colin grabbing seven boards.

Levi Butler had 18 to lead South Williamsport.

Sullivan led 10-7 after the first quarter as four different Griffins scored.

South hit three 3-balls in the second to out score Sullivan 17-13 for the 1-point lead at the break.

Lucas King and Blasi combined for 16 points in the third - 10 of those out of Lucas - as they built the 12-point lead.

Butler went off for 11 in the fourth as South tried to rally, but Sullivan got contributions from everybody - five different players scored - to keep their distance.

South won the JV game 53-34 behind 17 points from Jax Miller. Carter Blasi led Sullivan with 10.

Sullivan County (9-2) will host Muncy on Monday for a big Mid-Penn tilt.
