Northern Tier Sports ReportROME — NEB had 27 steals in the game as they rolled past Sayre, 62-16, during NTL girls’ hoops action Friday.
The Panthers led 17-4 after one, then extended that lead to 33-9 at the half. A 19-point third quarter secured things for them.
Mallorie Maynard flirted with a triple-double of 17 points, eight boards, and seven steals, while adding four assists.
Leah Beebe did have a double-double of 16 points, and 12 steals, plus six assists.
Aurelia Kolesar also had a double-double of 16 points, and 15 boards, plus three steals.
Kara Dughi notched seven points, four boards, and four steals, as Katrina Russell had four points, and five boards. Sara Gray chipped in with two points.
Rylee Lantz had nine points for Sayre.
Kolesar started the game hot, netting 10 of NEB’s 17 first quarter points. Beebe took over with five points in the second.
The Panthers went on to hit five 3-balls in the third, as Maynard had eight points, and Beebe six.
NEB won the JV game 51-11 as Izzy Kapr netted 15 points, and Sydney Howland scored 11.
