Northern Tier Sports ReportThe first full week back from holiday break yielded plenty of good performances this winter seasons as the league seasons heated up.
On the girls’ side Troy picked up two big wins, using strong defensive efforts to beat Towanda, and Athens. Over the two wins Giana Renzi averaged 12 ppl, 7 app, and 3 spg, earning Female Athlete of the Week honors.
For the boys Towanda went 5-1 on the week, picking up a big win over NEB, and then going 4-1 to take second at the Flynn Duals. Gage Evans went 6-0 and didn’t wrestle into the third period in any of his matches, nabbing four falls, and two tech falls, to be the Male Athlete of the Week.
