CANTON — Sullivan County picked up a 59-24 win over Canton during non-league boys’ hoops action Monday.
The Griffins led 20-8 after the first quarter and kept adding to the lead as they pulled away.
Lucas King had 23 points, and four steals to lead Sullivan, as Cayden Smithkors notched 10 points, and eight boards.
Tucker Blasi had nine points, nine steals, and five assists, with Jaiden Moore getting eight points, and 10 rebounds.
Madden Fries, Ryder Lambert, Colin King, and Landon Bahr all had two points, with Ryan Murray adding one.
Teyton Thompson led Canton with 11 points, as Ryder Route netted eight.
Cooper Jennings scored three, with Kix Carr adding two.
Lucas had 16 points in the opening frame to lead the Griffin attack, while Thompson led Canton with five points.
The Griffins out scored Canton 14-7 in the second quarter behind five points from Blasi as they took a 34-15 lead at the half.
A 19-5 third quarter in favor of Sullivan secure the win for them with Smithkors scoring five to lead the Griffins.
Sullivan won the JV game 57-16 behind 11 from Hunter Miller.
Sullivan (11-2) will travel to Bucktail Wednesday, while Canton (0-10) will travel to Williamson Tuesday.
