NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: STANTON, RUSSELL LEAD NEB PAST CV (2026-01-13)

WESTFIELD — NEB escaped CV with a 57-46 win during NTL boys’ hoops action Tuesday.

The Panthers led 32-21 at the half, but the Indians played them even in the final two quarters, with each scoring 25 points apiece.

Eli Stanton had 15 points on 7-for-12 shooting to go with four boards, four assists, and two steals to lead the Panthers as Dayton Russell notched 17 points on 8-for-11 shooting with eight boards, and two steals.

Clay Wilks had 10 points, and nine rebounds, as Cooper Brown finished with six points, and four boards.

Nate Gross notched five points, with Daniel Barrett, and Mac Burgert getting two points each. Burgert also had four assists.

Josh Teague had 10 to lead the Indians.

NEB was up 19-12 at the first horn with Stanton scoring 10 of his team’s points. 

They out scored CV 13-9 in the second behind five from Russell, and four out of Stanton.

In the third Russell took over with six points for NEB, while Teague matched him to keep it close.

Wilkes went off for six points in the fourth as the Panthers brought the win home.

NEB won the JV game 40-24 behind 14 from Gross.

NEB (10-2) will host Williamson on Thursday.
