NTL GIRLS' BASKETBALL: TROY KEEPS DEFENSIVE STREAK ALIVE IN WIN OVER WELLSBORO (2026-01-14)

WELLSBORO — For the third straight game Troy held a team scoreless in the first quarter, this time taking a 23-0 lead on Wellsboro en route to their 45-16 win during NTL girls’ hoops action Wednesday.

The Trojans led 35-3 at the break before letting some of the JV players hit the court in the second half.

Giana Renzi had 14 points, shooting 4-for-10 from deep, while adding four boards, and three assists to lead Troy.

Kyah Renzo added nine points, four rebounds, and two blocks, as Raelyn Woodward finished with seven points, four steals, and three assists.

Izzy Renzi finished with six points, as Haidyn Watson had two points, and four steals.

Emma Mickley had two points, and five boards, with Kyli Oldroyd netting three. Taylor Lee rounded things out with two points.

Kya Lawton led Wellsboro with nine points.

Giana hit two 3-balls en route to eight points to lead Troy in the first quarter, while Renzo added seven points. 

Giana buried two more 3-pointers in the second to pace the Trojans to their 32 point lead heading into the locker rooms. 

Troy (10-3) will head to NP-Mansfield on Friday.
