CANTON — Canton jumped out to a 17-3 lead en route to a 53-17 win over Williamson during NTL girls’ hoops action Wednesday.

Canton had 30 steals in the contest as they built a 36-12 lead at the half, then held Williamson scoreless in the third quarter.

Cailyn Van Noy had 22 points, eight steals, and three assists to lead Canton, with Lydia Roupp adding 12 points, and seven boards.

Dana Wesneski had seven points, three assists, and three steals in her return to action, as Stella Rockwell notched five points, seven assists, and five steals.

Cheyenne Fitch added four points, and three steals, with Alexis McRoberts getting two points, four boards, and five steals.

Daveian Crowley chipped in with one point, five rebounds, and five steals.

Laila Hackett led Williamson with five points.

Van Noy was hot from the start, netting 13 of Canton’s 17 first quarter points. Roupp took over in the second quarter, scoring nine points to lead Canton.

Rockwell, and Wesneski both hit 3-balls in the third as Canton built a 45-17 lead.

Van Noy, and Roupp hit 3-balls to highlight the fourth quarter.

Canton (9-3) will travel to Sayre on Friday.
