Northern Tier Sports ReportTIOGA JUNCTION —Wyalusing blew past Williamson, 59-32, during NTL boys’ hoops action Wednesday.
They took a 15-9 first quarter lead, then tacked on 17 more points in the second for a 32-18 lead at the break.
A 21-point third quarter secured the win for the Rams.
Myles Kershner had 12 points to lead Wyalusing, with Jared VanDeMark adding 11.
Noah Kilmer, and Tyler Caplan netted nine points each, as Shay Gartland notched eight.
Aiden Neiley, and Cam Cole had four points apiece, as Braden Johnson added two.
Kershner, and VanDeMark had five points each in the first frame to lead the Rams, while Kilmer, and Cole both scored four in the second to help them build the 14 lead at the half.
A lot of hands chipped in during the big third quarter, as Gartland, Caplan, and Kershner each had five points, while VanDeMark scored four.
On Saturday Wyalusing fell to East Juniata, 52-51, in overtime during non-league hoops action.
The Rams led most of the way, including 37-31 going into the fourth quarter, but EJ out scored them 13-7 in the fourth to send it into overtime.
In the extra period they out scored them 8-7 for the win.
Tyler Caplan had 16 points to lead Wyalusing, with Shay Gartland scoring 13.
Myles Kershner netted 11, with Noah Kilmer scoring six, and Jared VanDeMark adding five.
The Rams jumped out to a 14-9 first quarter lead behind six points form Caplan, and five out of Kershner.
It was a low scoring second quarter, with EJ pulling out an 8-6 frame to cut it to 22-17 as Gartland, and Kilmer had four points each.
The Rams would keep them at arm’s length in the third, taking a six point lead into the fourth thanks to seven points from Kershner.
However, they were held to seven points the fourth as EJ tied things up.
In the extra period Gartland hit a 3-ball, Kilmer had a bucket, and Caplan went 2-for-2 from the line but it wasn’t enough.
Wyalusing (5-8) will host NP-Liberty on Friday.
