NTL GIRLS' BASKETBALL: WYALUSING HOLDS ON LATE TO BEAT NP-LIBERTY (2026-01-22)

LIBERTY — Wyalusing snuck out of NP-Liberty with a 49-47 win during NTL girls’ hoops action Thursday.

The Rams led 43-35 going into the fourth when NPL rallied, out scoring Wyalusing 12-6, but it wasn’t quite enough.

Jenna Morningstar led three Wyalusing players in double figures with 14 points, as Alysha Botts netted 13, and Emily Johns scored 12.

Liz Kilmer notched eight, while Treanna Nickeson rounded things out with two.

Hailey Litzelman, and Kendall Graham had 18 points each to lead the Mounties.

Wyalusing led 13-10 after one behind four points from both Botts, and Morningstar, while Graham hit two 3-balls to lead NPL.

Botts went off for eight points in the second, hitting two 3-balls of her own, as they extended their lead to 25-19 at the half.

Offenses opened up in the third quarter with the two teams combining to score 34 points.

Wyalusing out scored NPL, 18-16, behind eight points from Johns, while Morningstar netted six. Litzelman netted 11 for the Mounties.

In the fourth Graham hit the last two of her six 3-pointers to spur the NPL rally, but a 3-ball from Kilmer, a bucket out of Morningstar, and a free throw from Botts was enough to send Wyalusing to the win.

Wyalusing (9-6) will travel to Delaware Valley on Saturday with a 1:30 p.m. start.
