Northern Tier Sports ReportCanton’s Levi Vermilya reached the semifinals of the Ultimate Warrior Tournament on Friday, with Carson Rockwell, and Leland Pepper both still alive.
Vermilya (107) went 3-0, getting a 2:28 fall in the first round, followed by a 44 second fall int he second.
In the quarterfinals he won 4-3 to reach the final four.
Rockwell (160) won his first three bouts by fall - 41 seconds, 4:39, and 28 seconds - before falling in the quarterfinals by a 15-0 tech fall.
Pepper (189) won his first two bouts, the opener 8-3, the second with a fall in 5:24, while he lost by fall in the quarterfinals.
Tommy Preston (145) went 3-2, as Blane Wesneski (172) went 2-2. Carson Castle (114) was 1-2, while Gavin Sharp (133), and Owen Moore (139) both went 0-2.
Wrestling will conclude on Saturday.
