NTL BOYS BASKETBALL: WYALUSING CAN'T HOLD EARLY LEAD IN LOSS TO NP-MANSFIELD (2026-02-06)

WYALUSING — Wyalusing led early but fell to NP-Mansfield, 55-46, during NTL boys’ hoops action Friday.

The Rams were up 17-13 after one, but a 15-point second quarter saw the Tigers take a 28-25 lead into the locker rooms.

The two teams had 16 points each in the third, while NPM held Wyalusing to five points in the fourth to get the win.

Tyler Caplan had 13 points to lead the Rams, as Shay Gartland, and Jared VanDeMark had 10 points each.

Noah Kilmer netted eight, Myles Kershner notched four, and Mason Culver chipped in with one.

Jason Harer led NPM with 22 points.

Caplan came out of the gates on fire, scoring 11 of his team’s 17 in the opening quarter to give them the four point lead.

Harer had six to lead NPM’s rally in the second, as they out scored Wyalusing 15-8.

Gartland went off for eight points in the third quarter, while Andy Hermansen and Harer had six points each to to counter for NPM.

It was a low scoring fourth - the two teams combined for five field goals - but NPM went 6-for-8 from the free throw line to pull away.

Wyalusing (6-13) will travel to Athens on Monday with a 4:30 p.m. varsity start with the girls’ game to follow.
