NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: NEB ROLLS PAST SAYRE ON SENIOR NIGHT (2026-02-06)

ROME — On senior night NEB saw four players hit double figures as they rolled past Sayre, 77-24, during NTL boys hoops action Friday.

The Panthers led 19-5 after one quarter, then extended that lead to 36-15 at the half. A 26 point third quarter from NEB sealed the win.

Nate Gross had 16 points on 7-for-15 shooting to go with five boards to lead the Panthers, while Clay Wilks shot 5-for-8 for 15 points and six boards.

Cooper Brown had 14 points, and eight rebounds, as Eli Stanton notched 13 points, three steals, and three assists.

Mac Burgert, and Dayton Russell had six points each, with Russell also grabbing six rebounds, while Dan Barrett added five points, eight boards, seven assists, and four steals.

Anthony Johnson chipped in with two points.

Declan Barry had 11 points to lead Sayre.

Wilks had seven to lead NEB in the opening frame, while Burgert hit two 3-balls as they got the 14 point lead.

Stanton took over in the second quarter with seven points, while Barrett, and Gross each had a 3-ball.

Brown had the hot hand in the third, leading the Panthers with eight points, as Wilks netted six, with them taking a 62-22 lead.

Gross had nine points to lead NEB in the fourth.

NEB won the JV game 50-25 as Gross scored 17, Ka’Ron Carr had 11, and Landon Chapman notched 10.

NEB (18-2) wraps up the regular season and will see who they get in the NTL Showcase next week.
