NTL BOYS BASKETBALL: TROY FALLS TO ATHENS (2026-02-07)

TROY — Troy led at the half but Athens pulled away in the second half for a 71-55 win during NTL boys hoops action Friday.

The Trojans took a 20-14 lead after one, and led 36-34 at the break. Athens would out score them 37-19 in the second half.

Trey Teribury had 12 points, six boards, and four assists to lead Troy, as Cameron Morey netted 11 points to go with six rebounds.

Pryor Teribury had 10 points, and four boards, while Spencer Martin added eight points, and three assists.

Josiah Pesesky notched six points, 12 boards, and three assists, while Evan Allen added four points to round out the scoring.

Lucas Schultz had 27 points to lead Athens.

Trey led Troy out of the gates with seven first quarter points, including a break-a-way dunk, but Schultz kept the Wildcats in the game with 10 points.

Morey and Trey combined for 10 of Troy’s 16 second quarter points, but the Wildcats got hot from deep, hitting four 3-balls in the frame.

Troy had just three field goals in the third while Athens had seven, including two 3-pointers, as they took a 50-44 lead into the fourth quarter.

In the final frame the Wildcats had a game high 21 points, led by seven from Nick Grazul, while Morey had four points to lead the Trojans.

Troy (12-9) will host Jersey Shore on Saturday as they wrap up the regular season.
