Northern Tier Sports ReportTIOGA JUNCTION — Canton ended the regular season with a 48-21 win over Williamson during NTL girls hoops action Monday.
Canton had 34 steals in the game as they led 23-12 at the half. In the third Canton held Williamson scoreless to secure the victory.
Cailyn Van Noy had 20 points, nine steals, and four boards to lead Canton as Alexis McRoberts had a double-double of 10 points and 10 steals, nearly getting a triple-double with nine boards, to go with three blocks.
Brenna Van Noy finished with five points, as Lucy Proseus, and Cheyanne Fitch had four points each. Fitch also had nine boards, and four steals.
Stella Rockwell notched three points, and three steals, with Danah Wesnski getting two points, seven steals, and three assists.
Cailyn started off strong, netting seven of her team’s 11 first quarter points, then scoring seven more in the second to build their 11 point lead.
Brenna led Canton in the third with five points, as McRoberts, and Cailyn added four points each.
Proseus, and McRoberts had four points apiece in their 12 point fourth quarter.
Canton will travel to Troy on Thursday for the first round of the NTL Showcase. The tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.
