LAPORTE — Sullivan County pulled away from a pesky Galeton team during the quarterfinal round of the District IV, Class A boys’ tournament Tuesday, beating the Tigers 60-38.
The Griffins held a 24-18 lead at the half, but then poured in 20 third quarter points to take a 17 point lead into the final frame.
In the fourth they out scored Galeton 16-11 to secure the win.
Colin King had a double-double of 14 points and 11 boards to go with six steals, and seven assists to lead Sullivan, as Lucas King added 13 points, and five boards.
Cayden Smithkors notched nine points with seven boards, as Jaiden Moore had eight points, and seven rebounds.
Tucker Blasi and Dom Marotti notched seven points each, with Blasi adding six steals.
Landon Bahr rounded out their scorers with two points.
Trey Sykora had 13 points to lead Galeton, with Gavin Shutt scoring 10.
The Griffins led 13-6 after one behind five points from Lucas King.
Galeton rallied in the second quarter, getting the best of Sullivan 12-11 as Sykora went off for seven points.
In the third the Kings combined for 12 points while Smithkors chipped in with four as the Griffins took a double-digit lead
Six different Sullivan County players scored in the fourth quarter.
The Griffins get Lourdes in the semifinals at a place, date, and time to be determined.
