NTL GIRLS WRESTLING: TOWANDA'S SLUYTER POWERS HER WAY THROUGH CONSOLATIONS TO EARN STATE BERTH (2026-02-28)

MILTON — Towanda’s Kaylen Sluyter won three straight consolation matches to punch her ticket to the PIAA Girls Wrestling Championships at the Central Regional Tournament Saturday, taking fourth overall.

Sluyter (112) went 4-2 overall, opening the day by pinning Crestwood’s Emmersyn Seltzer in 3:11.

She was pinned by Redbank Valley’s Iris Reitz in 5:55 during the quarters, but bounced back in the consolations with a fall over NEB’s Dariela Ramirez-Reyes in 4:59.

Sluyter then pinned Northern Bedford’s Yasmin Miller in 4:21 to reach the consolation semifinals.

In the blood round she held off a late charge from Evelynne Neale for a 17-14 win to punch her ticket to Hershey.

In the bronze medal match she fell 5-3 to Nanticoke’s Emily Kivler.

Kenzie Brown (130) went 1-2 on the day. She was pinned by Northern Bedford’s Emily Dennis in 40 seconds to open the tournament, but then came back with a 2:58 fall over Lake Lehman’s Miley Okane.

In the next round of consolations she lost 13-6 to Wilkes-Barre’s Jacqueline Hernandez.

Kendal Cook (148) and Adalee Wecker (170) both went 0-2.

Cook was pinned by Delaware Valley’s Ella Smith in 1:09 in the opening round, then lost by fall to Hughesville’s Caroline Hicks in 3:59 in the consolations.

Wecker was leading North Star’s Laikyn Paxton 9-8 when she was pinned in 4:16 in the preliminary match. Wyoming’s Gia Chapman pinned her in 1:24 in the consolations.
