Northern Tier Sports ReportHERSHEY — Troy’s Reed Palmer went 0-2 at the first day of the PIAA Wrestling Championships Thursday, to fall out of the tournament.
Palmer (285) was pinned by Greensburg Salem’s David Peters in 2:18 in the preliminaries, then lost by fall to Warrior Run’s Noah Johnson in 34 seconds in the first round of consolations.
In the prelim Palmer hand fought Peters to a drew in the first period. In the second he went down and was nearly out when Peters threw Palmer to his back to get the pin.
In the consolation bout Johnson threw Palmer to his back at the edge of the mat to get the fall.
