HERSHEY — NEB’s Anaiah Kolesar got down early in her semifinal and never recovered as she was pinned by Bishop Shanahan’s Shannon Logue in 4:55 during the PIAA Girls Wrestling Championships Friday.

Logue got a first period takedown, forcing Kolesar to wrestle out of a hole. Down 4-0 in the third she went big, and Logue was able to capitalize with the pin.

“I think we didn’t bounce back from that take down,” said NEB coach Curt Cole. “That’s tough. We’re going to get our mind right, and bounce back.”

She had pinned Logue at the Coal Cracker earlier this year, but Logue was winning 7-1 when Kolesar got her, so it was anybody’s match.

Cole noted Logue made some adjustments since then.

“She changed it up a little bit,” he said.

In the opening period Kolesar got to Logue’s leg on a shot. Logue was able to get to the side, then behind Kolesar, getting the takedown despite Kolesar still grasping her leg.

In the second Logue was able to ride her out to keep it a 3-0 lead.

Early in the third Kolesar was called for grabbing Logue’s singlet, putting her in a 4-0 hole.

She went in for a shot, and Logue was able to catch her and take her to her back for the pin.

Kolesar will now face Delone Catholic’s Faith Gladfelter in the consolation semifinals Saturday morning.
