WYALUSING — Michael Phillips rapped a one-out double, stole third, and scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Marshall Huston to score the winning run in a 6-5 walk-off win over Towanda here Tuesday afternoon in NTL baseball action.
The Rams took a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.
After singles by Griffin Sheldon and Phillips to start the game, Huston worked a walk to load the bases.
After Sheldon scored on a wild pitch, Owen Brown knocked in a run with an infield single to make it 2-0.
With one out, Landry Tinna ripped a two-run single to right field to extend the lead to 4-0. The Rams tacked on another run later in the inning.
Brown kept Towanda off the board until the third inning when the Knights trimmed the deficit to 5-1 when L??? Vincent scored on a two-out wild pitch.
After leaving the bases loaded in the fourth inning, Towanda struck for two runs in the fifth inning on a two-RBI double by Gage Evans to close the gap to 5-3.
With two outs in the top of the seventh inning, an error a walk, and a wild pitch put runners on second and third, and Hagan Jones tied the game with a fly ball double to right field.
Campbell Carr struck out the next batter to set the stage for the walk-off win.
Phillips doubled and singled twice and scored two runs to pace Wyalusing's six-hit attack, while Tinna singled, scored one run, and had two RBI, and Brown singled, scored one run, and drove in one run.
Jared VanDeMark singled in the win, while Huston scored one run and knocked in one run, and Sheldon scored one run.
Brown started for the Rams, allowing one run on three hits, while striking out four and walking five, and Carr finished the game, allowing two unearned runs on one hit, while striking out one and walking one to earn the win.
Evans doubled, scored one run, and drove in two runs, and Jones doubled and had two RBI to lead Towanda's five-hit attack, and Vincent singled and scored one run.
Boom Thompson and Brad Assante singled for the Knights, while Avery Butts, Hudson Stevens, and Shane Maghamez each scored one run.
Maghamez was tagged with a tough-luck loss, allowing one run on one hit, while striking out four in 3 2/3 innings.
Wyalusing is scheduled to return to action Thursday at Troy, while Towanda is at NP-Mansfield.
