Northern Tier Sports Report
ROME — NEB got another strong outing from Kohen Hugo in their 5-1 win over Sayre during NTL baseball action.

Hugo went the distance with 10 strikeouts, no walks, four hits, and one earned run.

The Panthers jumped out with two runs in the first, then added two more in the fourth.

Sayre got one across in the bottom half of the inning, but NEB got that one back with a run in the fifth.

Tanner Judson (2-for-4) had a run scored, and an RBI, as Cooper Hugo, Tyler Goodenow, Elijah DeLancey, and Nate Gross (1-for-4) all scored. Gross, Wes Alderfer, and Cooper Hugo each had an RBI.

NEB went with two in the bottom of the first as Cooper Hugo drew a 2-out walk. An error off the bat of DeLancey kept the rally going, with Judson driving in Cooper.

Gross then drove in DeLancey for a 2-0 lead.

In the fourth Gross led off with a hit, followed by Goodenow drawing a walk.

Gross would score on an Alderfer ground out followed by walks to Will Chappell, and Kohen Hugo to load the bases.

That led to Cooper Hugo drawing a walk to bring in Goodenow.

NEB’s final run came when Jusdson reached on a hit, then scored off a Gross ground out.
