Northern Tier Sports ReportWELLSBORO — Towanda used a 3-run fifth to beat Wellsboro, 4-2, during NTL softball action.
The Knights got one across in the first, but the Hornets knotted it up with a run in the third.
Towanda added three more in the fifth. Wellsboro rallied with a run in the sixth for the 2-run difference.
Maris Cobb (1-for-2) had 3-RBI while Molly Roberts (1-for-2) had a double with a run scored.
Payton Perry scored twice with an RBI as Kaylen Sluyter also scored.
Leila Cobb struck out 17 with four walks, four hits, and two earned runs.
In the first Perry drew a walk, then scored on a Maris Cobb ground out.
Roberts led off the fifth with a double, followed by Sluyter drawing a walk.
An error off the bat of Perry brought in Roberts, then a Maris Cobb singled scored both Sluyter and Perry.
