NTL SOFTBALL: WYALUSING FALLS TO DEFENDING LEAGUE CHAMPIONS ATHENS (2026-04-03)

Northern Tier Sports Report
ATHENS — Wyalusing played Athens tough but ultimately fell 5-1 during NTL softball action Friday.

The Wildcats led 1-0 after one, with both teams scoring a run in the second. The Wildcats nabbed three more insurance runs in the fifth for the 4-run win.

Emily Johns (2-for-3) had a multi-hit game for the Rams, as Treanna Nickeson (1-for-3) rocked a double. Kya Carpenter (1-for-3) scored a run, with Riley O’Connor (1-for-3) getting a hit, while Josie Ferris drove in a run.

Addison Fluck struck out three in the circle with two walks, four hits, and five runs scored.

Gretchen Hiley struck out 10 in the win while McKenna Jarvis had a home run.

After Jarvis hit a first inning home run Carpenter reached to start the second. A Johns single put runners on, as Fluck sacrificed them over.

Ferris then bunted Carpenter in to make it 1-1.

Athens got the run back in the bottom half of the inning, then used a couple Wyalusing defensive miscues to tack on three more runs later in the game.
