Northern Tier Sports ReportMILLVILLE — Sullivan County baseball fell to Millville, 12-2 in five innings, during Mid-Penn baseball action Thursday.
The Quakers jumped out to a 6-0 first inning lead, then scored three more in the second. They made it 11-0 with two runs in the third.
Sullivan kept the game going with two runs in the top of the fifth, but Millville got the 10-run mercy with a run in the bottom half of the inning.
Tucker Blasi (1-for-2) had a home run with 2-RBI for the Griffins as Brett Smith (2-for-3) had a multi-hit game.
Marshall Strain (1-for-1) scored a run, as Madden Fries (1-for-1) and Cole Barto (1-for-3) each had hits.
Garrett Burke started, and went one-third of an inning with five walks, no hits, and six earned runs.
Barto tossed 2 2/3-innings with one strikeout, six walks, four hits, and five runs, four of which were earned.
Ryan Murray tossed the final 1 1/3-innings with one strikeout, two walks, two hits, and one unearned run.
For Sullivan’s runs Blasi hit a 1-out, 2-run home run to right field, driving in Strain.
