Northern Tier Sports ReportLAPORTE — Sullivan County softball rolled past CMVT, 10-0 in five innings, during Mid-Penn softball action.
The Griffins jumped out with five runs in the first inning, then added two more in the second. They would score two in the third, then added one in each of the fourth and fifth innings.
Gabby Evans (2-for-2) scored and drove in a run as Mariah Hallabuk (1-for-1) scored twice and drove in two runs.
Charley Insinger (1-for-2) had 2-RBI with a run scored as Miley Dickinson (1-for-3), Bailey Smith (1-for-1), Bailey Bogart, and Trinity Rohe all crossed home.
Viveiros scored twice with Bogart and Paighton Durland each driving in a run. Hannah Kelly (1-for-2) added a double.
Viveiros struck out five in the win, allow six hits, and one walk.
In the first Insinger would reach on a dropped third strike followed by a Dickinson single, and a walk to Smith to load the bases.
After a second out Bogart would drive in Dickinson after getting hit by a pitch, followed by Smith scoring on a passed ball. Evans made it 3-0 with a hit that drove in Viveiros.
A walk to Evans reloaded the bases, then a Hallabuk single drove in Bogart and Evans for the 5-0 lead.
Insinger led off the second with a walk, followed by Smith getting a single two batters later. Insinger would later score on a 2-out passed ball for a 6-0 lead.
After getting out of a bases loaded jam in the top of the third Evans opened the bottom half with a hit. Hallabuk drew a 1-out walk two batters later, then Insinger brought in Rohe and Hallabuk with a 2-out single for the 8-0 score.
In the fourth Viveiros would reach on an error then score on a steal of home. Kelly then led off with a double, followed by Hallabuk reaching on a walk.
Kelly would get caught stealing home but Hallabuk would end the game when she scored on a Durland ground out.
