Northern Tier Sports ReportThe weather started to turn for the better and it showed in area contests this week, on the diamond, on the track, on the field, and on the tennis court.
Wyalusing’s Addison Fluck led the Rams to a 4-0 week. In the pitcher’s circle she struck out 31 while allowing five walks, one run, and eight hits; while in the batter’s box she was 9-for-13 with a home run, a double, and 7-RBI, earning Girls Athlete of the Week honors.
For the boys Towanda baseball went 3-0 to get back to .500 as Avery Butts put in a strong week. He was 6-for-13 from the plate with two doubles, 5-RBI, and three runs scored, while on the mound in the win over Canton he struck out four with three walks, four hits, and one earned run in four innings of action, making him the Male Athlete of the Week.
