Northern Tier Sports ReportCANTON — Canton and NEB competed in NTL track and field quad meet action Tuesday. On the boys side Canton (43) edged out the Panthers (42) for third with NP-Mansfield (116) and Williamson (59) going 1-2. For the girls Canton (61.5) was third with NEB (25) fourth as Williamson (99.5) beat NPM (74) for first.
On the boys’ side for Canton John Whitehead (19.00) won the 110 hurdles, as Wyatt Hilton (43-feet, 9 1/2-inches) won the shot put. Hilton was second in the discus at 120-feet, 9-inches.
Lawrence Halbfoerster was second in the 800 (2:05.30) with Manual Halbfoerster (2:09.31) third.
Chase Petrowski (24.44) and John Whitehead (25.14) went 2-3 in the 200. Nicholas Weaver (59.14) was second in the 400.
Whitehead (17-feet, 7-inches) was third in the long jump.
On the girls’ side for Canton Hayley Larsen won the 100 (13.84) and the 200 (28.84), while taking second in the high jump (4-feet, 10-inches).
Alexis McRoberts won the shot put (39-feet, 5-inches) with Emilia Pepper (29-feet, 6 1/2-inches) third.
Pepper won the javelin in 83-feet, 10 1/2-inches.
Danah Wesneski (51.5) won the 300 hurdles with Stella Rockwell (29-feet, 7 1/4-inches) third in the triple jump.
On the boys’ side for NEB Jackson Martin won the 1600 (4:54.00), as Eli Stanton was second in the 100 in 11.84.
Levi Dewing (11:01.3) was second in the 3200, with Landon Chapman second in the triple jump (37-feet, 11-inches).
Tucker Hughes (105-feet, 9-inches) was third in the discus.
On the girls’ side for NEB Delsi Ramirez-Sanchez was third in the 200 in 29.74, with Sophie Bennett third in the 1600 (5:52.20). Bennett was also third in the 3200 (13:24.10).
Sophia Davenport was third in the high jump at 4-feet, 2-inches.
