SULLIVAN COUNTY FALLS TO MONTGOMERY (2206-04-18)

LAPORTE — Sullivan County softball fell to Montgomery, 16-2 in five innings, during Mid-Penn softball action Friday.

The Red Raiders led with two runs in the first, then tacked on three more in the top of the third. Sullivan cut it to 5-2 in the bottom half of the inning, but Montgomery came back with seven runs in the fourth, and four more in the fifth.

Charley Insinger (1-for-2) had 2-RBI with Mariah Hallabuk (1-for-2), and Paighton Durland both scoring the runs.

Emilia Viveiros allowed 14 hits, and 16 runs in the loss, three of those runs were earned.

In the third the Griffins scored with two outs as Durland drew a walk, followed by Hallabuk hitting a single. That sent up Insinger’s 2-run hit.
