NTL BASEBALL: HUGOS LEAD NEB PAST SUSQUEHANNA (2026-04-18)

SUSQUEHANNA — The Hugo family had a big day as NEB rolled past Susquehanna, 10-0 in six innings, during non-league baseball action Saturday.

Kohen and Cooper Hugo combined for 4-for-6 with four runs scored and 5-RBI while on the mound Cooper Hugo got the win, going five innings with one walk, two hits, no runs, and seven strikeouts.

The Panthers scored one run in the first, then added another in the second before breaking the game open with a 4-run third. They tacked on three more in the fourth, then scored one in the sixth to secure the win.

Kohen Hugo (2-for-3) had a triple with four runs scored, and 2-RBI as Cooper (2-for-3) drove in three runs.

Anthony Johnson (2-for-3) had a multi-hit game with Lyric Hillard scoring twice. Elijah DeLancey scored and drove in a run, as Wes Alderfer, Ka’Ron Carr, and Tyler Goodenow also crossed home.

Nate Gross pitched the final inning, striking out one with no walks, and one hit.

In the first Kohen Hugo led off with a walk then scored on a DeLancey ground out for the 1-0 lead.

In the second Kohen Hugo had a 2-out single then scored on a Cooper Hugo hit for a 2-0 lead.

For the third DeLancey drew a leadoff walk, then, after two outs, Carr would walk to keep the rally going. 

DeLancey would score, followed by Goodenow reaching on an error. Carr then scored on an error, followed by Kohen Hugo reaching base on an error that allowed Carr to score.

After a walk to Cooper Hugo, Kohen Hugo would score on a fielder’s choice for the 6-0 lead.

In the fourth Alderfer led off with a walk, followed by Hillard also drawing a walk. That set up Kohen Hugo’s 2-out, 2-RBI triple, with him scoring on a Cooper Hugo single for the 9-0 lead.

The final run in the sixth came when Hillard drew a lead-off walk, then later scored on a Cooper Hugo sacrifice fly for the 10-0 final.

NEB (6-5) will host Canton on Tuesday.
