Northern Tier Sports ReportWYALUSING — Troy’s bats stayed hot as they rolled past Wyalusing, 21-5 in five innings, during NTL baseball action Tuesday.
After a scoreless first the Trojans took control in the second with nine runs. They added one more in the third, then notched four in the fourth to go up 14-0.
Troy made it 21-0 with seven runs in the top of the fifth. The Rams avoided the shutout with five runs in the bottom of the fifth.
Logan Loxley (3-for-3) had two doubles with three runs scored, and 2-RBI for Troy as Brody Ayres (3-for-4) had a double, three runs, and 2-RBI.
Brendan Gilliland (3-for-4) had a double with 2-RBI, and a run scored, as Garret Parks (3-for-3) had a double with three runs scored, and 2-RBI.
Pryor Teribury (2-for-3) scored twice with an RBI while Mason Smith (1-for-4) scored twice with 2-RBI.
Reed Palmer (1-for-4) scored, and drove in a run as Zack Blasz (1-for-1) scored, and drove in a run.
Landon Cole (1-for-1) scored, and drove in a run as Frank Harper scored, and Vinnie Colton had an RBI.
Owen Campbell also had an RBI with Trey Teribury and Josiah Pesesky both scoring. Hunter Watson added a run, and an RBI.
Harper started, and went an inning with two strikeouts. Parks tossed 2 1/3-innings with one strikeout, five hits, and three unearned runs.
Watson tossed the final 1 2/3-innings with two strikeouts, two walks, one hit, and two runs.
Owen Brown (2-for-3) had an RBI for the Rams as Griffin Sheldon (1-for-2) scored, and drove in a run.
Dawson Biza (1-for-2) also scored, and drove in a run, with Michael Phillips, Campbell Carr, and Mahdden Hugo (1-for-2) all crossing home.
Marshall Huston (1-for-3) added an RBI.
Jared VandeMark started, and went 1 1/3-innings with two strikeouts, two walks, five hits, and eight earned runs.
Brown tossed 1 2/3-innings with two strikeouts, no walks, seven hits, and five runs, two of which were earned.
Carr pitched 1 1/3-innings with one strikeouts, two walks, six hits, and seven runs, six of which were earned.
Sheldon went the final two-thirds with one hit, and one unearned run.
Loxley led off the second with a double then scored on a Teribury fielder’s choice.
After a walk to Harper and single to Ayres Smith brought both Parks and Ayres home with a hit.
Two batters later Gilliland singled in Ayres and Smith for a 5-0 lead, followed by Palmer driving in Gilliland.
After a walk to Trey Teribury Loxley singled in Palmer and Trey to make it 8-0.
Pryor Teribury kept it going with a hit while Parks would single in Loxley for the 9-0 lead.
In the third Smith reached on an error then scored on a passed ball.
Loxley led off the fourth with a double with Pryor Teribury plating him on a single. Parks’ double would score Pryor for a 12-0 lead.
Ayres would double in Parks to make it 13-0 followed by Smith reaching on an error.
Ayres would score on a passed ball for the 14-0 ball game.
Pesesky led off the fifth with a walk followed by Parks hitting a single. Harper then singled to load the bases.
Ayres would drive in Pesesky for a 15-0 lead, then Blasz drove in Parks.
After an out Watson plated Harper, followed by Cole driving in Ayres for an 18-0 score.
Campbell would reach on an error while Blasz scored. Colton would drive in Watson on a ground out, then Cole scored off an error for Troy’s 21st run.
In the bottom half of the inning Gage Tinna drew a lead off walk then was caught at second base on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Carr.
Hugo would single, then Biza drove in Carr with a 2-out hit.
A Sheldon hit brought in Hugo, followed by Biza scoring on an error off the bat of Phillips.
Huston would single in Sheldon, then Brown drove in Phillips for the 21-5 final.
