Northern Tier Sports ReportTOWANDA — The Wyalusing boys and girls both claimed an NTL tri-meet sweep during track and field action Tuesday.
The Wyalusing (89) girls edged Towanda (76) as Sayre (8) was third, while the Wyalusing (102) boys pulled away from Towanda (71) and Sayre (9).
For the girls Wyalusing’s Vayda Rought (13.35) won the 100 followed by Towanda’s Reese Sullivan (14.10) and Ram Carol Scarborough (14.49).
Wyalusing’s Lia Fischer (29.78) won the 200 with Towanda’s Katelyn Blokzyl (30.45) in second.
Towanda’s Kylee Barnes won the 400 (1:10.33) followed by Wyalusing’s Aleta O’Connor (1:10.74) and Scarborough (1:10.95).
Black Knight Izzy Larson (2:43.91) won the 800 with Wyalusing’s Camryn Gesford (2:54.60) and Marci Gowin (3:00.79) in second and third.
Towanda went 1-2 in the 1600 with Mary-Kate Eberlin (5:47.28) and Larson (5:47.29) as Wyalusing’s Riley Porter (6:09.68) was third.
Fischer (17.34) and teammate Mya King (18.97) went 1-2 in the 100 hurdles as Blokzyl (19.27) was third.
Ram Megan King (53.15) won the 300 hurdles followed by Eberlin (53.17) with Ram Liz Kilmer (58.43) in third.
Wyalusing won the 4x100 (53.75) and Towanda taking the 4x400 (4:41.93). The Rams took the 4x800 in 11:20.26.
Wyalusing’s Jenna Morningstar won the high jump in 4-feet, 8-inches as Towanda’s Kennedy Heyer (4-feet, 6-inches) took second.
Fischer (30-feet, 10-inches) led a Wyalusing sweep of the triple jump, followed by Ava King (29-feet, 7-inches), and Alyssa Neagle (27-feet).
Morningstar (14-feet, 9 1/2-inches) and Ava King (12-feet, 11-inches) went 1-2 in the long jump as Towanda’s Marin Maynard (12-feet, 9-inches) was third.
Towanda swept the pole vault with Marin Maynard (10-feet), Cheyenne Morgan (9-feet), and Allexys Shaffer (7-feet, 6-inches).
Wyalusing’s Sierra Gromley (68-feet, 9-inches) and Towanda’s Lilyann Sproule (68-feet, 6-inches) went 2-3 in the discus.
Towanda’s Brynn Woodruff (125-feet, 9-inches) won the javelin with Wyalusing’s Vanderpool (89-feet, 7-inches) in second, as Black Knight Eliana Cook (88-feet, 2-inches) took third.
Towanda swept the shot put with Cook (33-feet, 4 1/2-inches), Abby Benjamin (29-feet, 10 3/4-inches), and Sproule (27-feet, 9-inches).
On the boys’ side Towanda’s duo of Jazick Brown (11.36) and Layk Brown (12.20) went 1-2 in the 100 as Wyalusing’s Dominic Trowbridge (12.33) was third.
Jazick Brown took the 200 in 23.73 with Trowbridge (25.16) and Layk Brown (25.69) in second and third.
Wyalusing’s Aiden Neiley (56.68) won the 400 followed by Layk Brown (57.92) and Ram Ethan Vanderpool (58.41).
Towanda’s Quentin Little (2:14.72) won the 800 followed by Neiley (2:18.56), while in the 1600 the Black Knight duo of Emmett Klees (4:46) and Little (5:03.65) both won with Wyalusing’s Cody Tuttle (5:11) in third.
Klees (12:25.84) and teammate Phillip Spinney (12:50.55) went 1-2 in the 3200 as Wyalusing’s Cooper Meyer (13:18.33) was third.
Wyalusing’s Jack Fischer (17.56) won the 110 hurdles followed by teammate Jonathan Earle (17.98) and Aiden Blokzyl (18.72).
Fischer (44.50) and Parker Cunningham (45.06) went 1-2 for the Rams in the 300 hurdles as Blokzyl (52.67) was third. The Rams took the 4x800 (10:56.01).
Wyalusing won the 4x100 (46.93) with Towanda taking the 4x400 (3:45.57).
The Rams swept the triple jump with Tyler Caplan (37-feet, 8 1/2-inches), Fischer (34-feet, 11-inches), and Cunningham (33-feet, 8 1/4-inches).
Dylan Johns won the high jump at 6-feet, 4-inches followed by Towanda’s Kole Heyer (5-feet, 10-inches), and Ram John Kerin (5-feet, 8-inches).
Johns led a Towanda sweep of the long jump at 19-feet, 3-inches, as Reuben Kinney (17-feet, 2 1/2-inches) and Caplan (17-feet, 2-inches) were second and third.
Earle (12-feet, 6-inches) won the pole vault followed by Towanda’s Tanner Vanderpool (11-feet, 6-inches), and Ram Tyler Grover (10-feet, 6-inches).
Towanda went 1-2 in the javelin with Joey Montonya (138-feet, 9-inches) and Kolton McPeak (131-feet). Wyalusing’s Ethan Vanderpool (129-feet, 1-inch) was third.
Wyalusing’s Joshua Palfreyman (46-feet, 9 1/2-inches) was second in the shot put while Towanda’s Markell Garner (45-feet, 11-inches) came in third.
The Rams went 1-2 in the discus with Harry Meyers (106-feet, 7-inches) and Ethan Vanderpool (105-feet, 5-inches).
