NTL BASEBALL: TOWANDA FALLS TO WELLSBORO IN PITCHER'S DUEL (2026-04-23)

WELLSBORO — Towanda out hit Wellsboro but fell 2-0 during NTL baseball action Thursday.

The Knights had more hits 3-2 but a 2-run third for the Hornets gave them the win.

Boom Thompson (2-for-3) had a multi-hit day for the Knights as Gage Evans (1-for-3) also had a hit.

Shane Maghamez was strong in the loss, going six innings with three strikeouts, one walk, two hits, and two unearned runs.

Marek Mascho got the win for Wellsboro, going the distance with six strikeouts, one walk, and three hits. He also went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Towanda’s best chance to score came in the fifth when they got runners on first and second with two outs, but Mascho got Harper Welles to line-out to end the threat.

Towanda (5-4) will get another chance at the Hornets on Friday, at home, with a 4:30 p.m. start.
