Northern Tier Sports ReportWYALUSING — Wyalusing’s Addisyn Bly earned her 100th career hit as the Rams rallied past Wellsboro, 16-6 in six innings, during NTL softball action Tuesday.
“I am very happy for her,” said Wyalusing coach Brett Jayne. “She has had a great high school career. I feel as if she has always been one of the premier hitters in the league, a very smart ball player - very gifted, very humble. I hope that she can move on now, and finish her high school career with many more hits.”
Bly went 1-for-3 with a triple, two runs scored, and 2-RBI, but it was the Hornets taking the early lead.
Wellsboro led 1-0 after one, and 4-0 going into the fourth.
The Rams scored two in the bottom of the fourth to make it 4-2.
The Hornets got a run back in the top half of the fifth, only to watch Wyalusing cut it to 5-4 going into the sixth.
Wellsboro scored another in the sixth, but Wyalusing came alive in the bottom half, netting 12 runs to get the mercy rule win.
Callee Warner (3-for-4) had two doubles, two runs scored, and 2-RBI as Addison Fluck (2-for-4) had 4-RBI with a double.
Kyla Carpenter (2-for-4) scored three times with 2-RBI, Josie Ferris (2-for-4) drove in three runs with a run scored, and Ellie Adams (2-for-2) also crossed home twice.
Riley O’Connor (1-for-3) doubled with two runs scored as Raelea Harvey and Treanna Nickeson both scored twice.
Fluck got the win, striking out six with three walks, and five hits.
In the fourth Bly reached on an error, followed by Nickeson getting hit by a pitch.
That set up Ferris’ run scoring single for a 4-1 ball game. Nickeson later scored on a wild pitch to make it 4-2.
In the fifth Carpenter got things going as she was hit by a pitch with one out, followed by Warner getting a hit.
Bly then tripled - her 100th career hit - which allowed Carpenter and Warner to score to make it a 1-run game.
O’Connor got things rolling in the sixth with a double, followed by Adams drawing a walk.
Fluck then doubled in O’Connor to tie the game up at 6-all.
After an out Carpenter drove in Harvey, followed by Warner doubling in Carpenter for an 8-6 score.
Bly was hit by a pitch followed by Nickeson drawing a walk to load the bases.
Ferris singled in Warner and Bly, followed by Nickeson scoring on an error as the Rams extended the lead to 11-6.
Ferris would score on a wild pitch for a 12-6 lead, setting up a Fluck hit that drove in O’Connor and Adams.
After a second out Carpenter would drive in Harvey, then a Warner double brought in Carpenter to end the game.
Wyalusing (10-5) will host Sayre on Thursday.
