NTL BASEBALL: CANTON RALLIES PAST WYALUSING (2026-05-05)

CANTON — Canton used a 9-run bottom sixth to rally past Wyalusing, 10-7, during NTL baseball action Tuesday.

The Rams led 2-0 after the first. The defenses settled in until the top of the fifth when Wyalusing added two more runs.

Canton got one back in the bottom half, but a 3-run top sixth saw Wyalusing take a 7-1 lead.

That’s when the Warriors put up nine to take the lead, and kept it the rest of the way.

Trapper Burr (3-for-3) had a double, scored, and drove in a run as Owen Moore (2-for-4) had a double with 2-RBI, and two runs scored.

Leeland Tubach (1-for-2) scored, as Bailey Gardner (1-for-2) scored, and drove in a run.

Isaiah Colton (1-for-1) had a double with 2-RBI, and a run scored, with Daniel Inman (1-for-4), and Reed Taylor both scoring, and driving in a run.

Aaeden Dowling crossed home, as well.

Inman went the first five innings with 10 strikeouts, five walks, five hits, and four earned runs.

Burrs went the final two innings with one strikeout, no walks, four hits, and three earned runs.

Griffin Sheldon (2-for-3) scored twice, and drove in a run for the Rams as Michael Phillips (1-for-4) had a double with 2-RBI.

Marshall Huston, Gage Tinna, and Dillon Gonsauls both scored, and drove in a run.

Wiley Trobaugh (1-for-4), and Jared Vandemark also crossed home.

Owen Brown started, and went five innings with seven strikeouts, three walks, five hits, and five runs, three of which were earned.

VandeMark tossed one-third of an inning with one strikeout, four walks, no hits, and four earned runs.

Sheldon pitched the final two-thirds with no strikeouts, one walk, one hit, and one earned run.

Sheldon and Huston had back to back walks to lead off the game. Sheldon would later score on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Tinna for a 1-0 lead.

After an out an error off the bat of Phillips brought in Huston to make it 2-0.

In the fifth Sheldon would hit a 1-out single. After a second out Tinna and Campbell Carr both drew walks to keep the at bat alive.

That’s when Phillips hit a double to drive in Sheldon and Tinna for a 4-0 lead.

Moore would lead off the bottom half of the inning with a hit, then scored on a passed ball to make it 4-1.

Trobaugh led off the sixth with a hit, followed by VandeMark reaching on an error.

An error off the bat of Gonsauls brought in Trobaugh, then VandeMark scored on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Sheldon.

Huston made it a 7-1 as he drove in Gonsauls on another fielder’s choice.

Inman and Tubach hit back to back singles to lead off the bottom of the sixth. Colton would draw a walk to load the bases.

Moore then doubled in Inman and Tubach to make it 7-3, followed by Dowling drawing a walk to reload the bases.

After an out Burr induced a walk to bring in Colton, then Gardner walked to score Moore for a 7-5 ball game.

A Taylor walk would let Dowling score as Wyalusing saw their lead dwindle to 7-6.

An Inman sacrifice fly allowed Burr to score to knot the game up at 2-all.

Gardner would score on a passed ball, then after Tubach drew a walk, Colton would double in Taylor and Tubach for a 10-7 score.

Canton (7-11) is at Athens Thursday while Wyalusing (3-14) travels to South Williamsport on Wednesday.
