Northern Tier Sports ReportEAST TROY — Lauren Reed had a big night on senior night as Troy rolled past CV, 10-1, during NTL softball action Thursday.
Reed went 3-for-4 with a double, 2-RBI, and two runs scored for the Trojans.
Troy scored one run in the bottom of the first, then notched two more in the second. They made it 4-0 with a run in the third, then scored twice in the fourth for a 6-0 lead.
CV would get on the scoreboard in the top of the fifth, but Troy came back with four in the six for the 9-run win.
Maddyson Muir (2-for-2) had two doubles, 2-RBI, and two runs scored as Delaney Kendall (2-for-4) scored, and drove in a run.
Haidyn Watson (1-for-3) scored three times with Sydnee Bellows (1-for-4) driving in two runs. Danielle Roy (1-for-3) had an RBI as Erinn Knapp and Aleiyah Kutt both scored.
Knapp struck out 10 in the win, allowing three walks, four hits, and one earned run.
Watson would draw a 1-out walk in the bottom of the first then scored on a Reed ground out for the 1-0 lead.
Muir led off the second with a walk, followed by Kendall singling. Both would get moved up on an Aubree Kenyon sacrifice bunt.
A Kutt walk would load the bases, setting up a 2-out Bellows hit that plated Muir and Kendall for a 3-0 lead.
Reed led off the third with a hit as Knapp bunted her over. Muir then doubled her in to make it 4-0.
Kutt drew a walk to lead off the fifth, then scored on a Roy single.
After a double play Watson singled to restart the rally, with Reed hitting her home to make it 6-0.
Watson led off the sixth by reaching on an error, then scored on a Reed double. Knapp drew a walk, setting the table for Muir’s run scoring double to make it 8-1.
Kendall singled in Knapp, then Kenyon bunted in Muir for the 10-1 final.
Troy (7-10) keeps their playoff hopes alive as they host South Williamsport on Saturday with an 11 a.m. start.
