With a mix of youth and veterans Wyalusing track and field put together a strong 2026 season.

"Honestly, I did not know what to expect this season," said Wyalusing coach Jim Schools. "I knew we had some individual talent, but wasn't sure about the depth. I am really pleased with how the season went. Obviously, there were a couple of things I wish went differently, but all in all, I am really pleased."

Both Rams squads earned top five finishes at the NTL Track and Field Championships. The girls were fifth with 69.5 points while the boys scored 96 points to take fourth.

The boys were on the short list of contenders for the title but an injury to Dylan Johns kept him out that day.

They did finish with several league champions - Lia Fischer (100 hurdles), Shay Gartland (long jump), and Jon Earle (pole vault).

At districts Earle claimed the pole vault title, leading three Rams on to the podium as Sullivan McCracken was third and Tyler Grover took eighth.

Johns was a 2-time district medalist (long jump and high jump) while Ethan Vanderpool (javelin) and Tyler Caplan (triple jump) also made the podium.

For the girls Fischer ended up fourth in the 100 hurdles with Jenna Morningstar taking eighth in the long jump.

Earle's title got him to states in the pole vault, where he was forced to vault indoors in the rain, and finished in the middle of the pack.

"Having Jonathan Earle qualify for States was a great way to end the season," said Schools. "He has been such a hard worker throughout the season and his career, it was great to see him accomplish this goal."

While on the boys' side they say good-bye to several key seniors, including Earle and Johns, both teams return plenty of talent for another strong 2027 campaign.

"I think with the talent that we have returning on both teams, the future for Wyalusing Track and Field is very promising," Schools said.
