TUNKHANNOCK — RTL Majors Softball opened up pool play with a high scoring 16-9 win over Tunkhannock during District 33 action Saturday.

RTL scored in every inning but it was Tunkhannock going up 4-3 after the first.

RTL took an 7-3 lead with a 4-run second inning, as Tunkhannock cut it to 8-6 after three.

A 3-run fourth inning gave RTL an 11-6 advantage. They made it 12-6 with a run in the top of the fifth, but Tunkahnnock rallied in the bottom half to cut it to 12-9.

A 4-run final inning allowed RTL to pull away.

Aubri Brown (3-for-4) had two doubles, 5-RBI, and two runs scored to lead RTL with Stella Sheldon (3-for-4) scoring three times and driving in a run.

Carleigh Reynolds (3-for-4) had 2-RBI with a run scored as Mollee Warner (1-for-4) drove in three runs.

Cassadee Benjamin (1-for-2) scored twice and drove in two runs with Fallon O'Connor (1-for-1) also crossing home twice.

Madelyn Sweeney (1-for-2) had three runs scored, with Hadley Adams (1-for-1), Riley Welles, and Cora Trobaugh also scoring.

Warner struck out four in the win.

RTL (1-0) will host Elk Lake (1-0) on Monday.
