TROY — Canton Majors Softball used a 3-run fifth inning to pull away from Troy for a 10-7 win during District 15 bracket play Tuesday.
It was 3-3 after one with Canton using a run in the third to take a 4-3 advantage.
Both teams scored three runs in the fourth, then came Canton's big fifth inning to go up 10-6.
Troy got one back in the bottom of the sixth but couldn't get any closer.
Kennedy Wilcox (2-for-3) had a triple with 3-RBI, and a run scored for Canton as Lydia Jennings (2-for-4) scored twice.
Karleigh Andersen (1-for-3) drove in three runs while Parker Hoover (1-for-3) scored and had an RBI.
Lakelyn (1-for-2) scored twice as Jasmine Hilfiger(1-for-4) also crossed home. Angel Young (1-for-4) had an RBI.
Jennings started, and struck out one in one inning while Wilcox tossed the other six innings, striking out seven.
For Troy Mariska Putnam (3-for-3) scored and a drove in a run, as Piper May (1-for-4) had a double with a run scored and an RBI.
Abigail Judson (1-for-4) had 3-RBI with a run scored as Payton Chilson (1-for-3) drove in two runs.
Haylee Estep, Chloe Hamm, Baylie Northrup, and Adelyn Holmes all scored as Leyna Schap (2-for-3) had a triple.
Mariska started, and went five innings with four strikeouts, while Haylee pitched the final inning.
Canton will host Southern Tioga on Thursday while Troy will await the loser of Wellsboro and Athens.
