LEROY — Towanda Minors Softball topped Canton, 7-2, during District 15 pool play action Saturday.

It was scoreless through three with Canton taking the lead in the bottom of the fourth with a run.

Towanda struck back with three runs in the top of the fifth, then added four more in the sixth for a 7-1 lead.

Canton got one back in the bottom half for the 5-run difference.

Charlee Wheeler (2-for-3) had a home run, 4-RBI, and two runs scored to lead Towanda with Jonica Owen (1-for-2) scoring and driving in a run.

Eme Maye (1-for-2), Adley Miller (1-for-2), Charlotte Wickwire, and Olivia Willey all scored as Violet White (1-for-3) had an RBI.

Gracie Vanderpool struck out 17 in the win for Towanda.

Leah Ross (3-for-3) was perfect from the plate to lead Canton while scoring one of their runs. Ellie L also scored, with Kendall G (1-for-3) getting an RBI. Emily S (1-for-2) had a hit.

Ross struck out 11 in 5 1/3-innings.

Canton travels to Wellsboro on Monday while Towanda is at Athens.
