YOUTH: TOWANDA MINORS BASEBALL HOLDS OFF TROY (2026-06-24)

TROY — Towanda held off Troy for an 8-5 win during District 15 Minors baseball pool play action Tuesday.

Towanda led 1-0 after one with the teams trading runs in the second. Towanda then scored another run in the third for a 3-1 lead.

Both teams notched two runs in the fourth for a 5-3 score. After a scoreless fifth Towanda out scored Troy, 3-2, in the sixth to get the win.

Jackson Scrivener (2-for-3) had a double with 2-RBI for Towanda as Cole Spencer (2-for-3) also drove in two runs.

Callan Willey (1-for-1) had a double with an RBI and a run scored with Chase Lewis (1-for-3) scoring three times.

Owen scored twice as Cole Williams (1-for-3), and Eric Towner (1-for-2) both scored. Rayden Bailey (1-for-3) had a hit.

Williams went the first 5 1/3-innings with 13 strikeouts as Lewis pitched the final two-thirds with one strikeout.

For Troy Clayton Morgan (2-for-3) had two doubles with 2-RBI and a run scored as Colton Petris (2-for-3) had a double with 2-RBI and a run scored.

Lincoln Bailey (1-for-2) scored twice as Braxton Spencer (1-for-3) drove in a run. Jonas Schap crossed home.

Miles Sparling started, and went two innings with three strikeouts. Austin Blasz went 1 1/3-innings with two strikeouts, as Schap pitched 1 2/3-innings with two strikeouts.

Petris tossed one inning with two strikeouts.

Towanda hosts Canton on Thursday with Troy traveling to Athens.
