TUNKHANNOCK — Heavy rain interrupted the championship game between NEBall and Tunkhannock for the inaugural District 33 Majors Softball title on Thursday.
The game was suspended in the bottom of the third with NEBall lead 5-3, but Tunkhannock had bases loaded with no outs.
It will resume on Friday. If NEBall wins they claim the title, if Tunkhannock wins they force a winner-take-all on Saturday back at Tunkhannock.
Tunkhannock led 1-0 after one with both teams scoring a run in the second.
NEBall came alive in the top of the third with four runs, kickstarted by Ellie Alderfer's home run, to take a 5-2 lead.
Tunkhannock was in the middle of a rally when the skies opened up.
Emma Eastabrook (1-for-2) had a hit with an RBI as Aliyah Kolesar, Brooke Kolesar, Annalyn Eaton, and Rileigh Crawford all scored. Crawford also had an RBI.
Mollie Callear struck out three through two innings of action.
