YOUTH: CANTON'S ROSS GOES OVER 100 STRIKEOUTS IN WIN OVER WELLSBORO (2026-06-26)

WELLSBORO — For the third straight year Canton's Leah Ross broke the 100 strikeout plateau as she led her team past Wellsboro, 16-1 in four innings, in elimination bracket action for District 15.

Canton came out strong, taking a 7-1 lead after the first inning, then scored seven more in the second.

Canton scored two in the third to finish things off.

Ross struck out nine in the win while going 2-for-4 with a double, 4-RBI, and a run scored.

Madison Schultz (2-for-2) scored twice, and drove in two runs with Cate Driscoll, and Alonna Sheppard both scoring three times. Sheppard had 2-RBI with Discroll driving in one.

Ellie Lyon, Laila Parker, and Rhylin VanValkenburg all scored twice with Lyon driving in two runs. Lola Morse also crossed home.

Canton will take on Athens on Sunday at Southern Tioga Little League.
