TOWANDA — Towanda Minors baseball opened up bracket play with a 15-5 win over Alleghany Mountain in four innings during District 15 action Tuesday.
After a scoreless first Towanda used a 3-run second to take the lead. They went on to out scored Alleghany 9-1 in the third to take control of the game.
Alleghany out scored them 4-3 in the fourth but it wasn't enough to keep the contest going.
Jackson Scrivener (2-for-2) scored three times as Callan Willey (2-for-3) scored twice, and drove in two runs.
Eric Towner (1-for-1) doubled, and crossed home, as Cole Spencer (1-for-3) scored, and drove in three runs.
Greyson Irvine and Chase Lewis both went 1-for-1 with two runs scored while Gage Horton (2-for-2) scored, and drove in a run.
Rayden Bailey (1-for-2) and Maddox Hicks (1-for-3) both scored as Cole Williams drove in a run.
Williams went the first 3 2/3-innings with seven strikeouts with Spencer going the final third, fanning one.
Towanda hosts Southern Tioga on Saturday.
