ATHENS — Canton Majors baseball fell to Athens, 11-3, during District 15 elimination bracket play on Monday.

Canton led 3-0 midway through the second but then watched Athens scored 11-unanswered to get the win.

Tanner Gowin (1-for-2), Jake VanHorn, and Hunter Burr scored the three Canton runs as Tommy Thompson (1-for-3) had a hit. Lincoln Holcomb drove in a run.

Burr started, and went 1 2/3-innings with three strikeouts, followed by Sawyer Schultz going the next 1 1/3-innings.

Avery Moore came on for 1 2/3-innings with two strikeouts, as Thompson pitched the final third, getting a strikeout.

Canton finished in the top four in the district.
