YOUTH: MILLER'S WALK-OFF RBI GIVES TOWANDA MINORS SOFTBALL SECTIONAL WIN (2026-07-07)

MANSFIELD — Adley Miller drove in Jonica Owen to give Towanda Minors Softball a 6-5 walk-off win over Jersey Shore in the opening round of the Section III tournament Tuesday.

Towanda will take on Warrior Run, 8-2 winners over Tunkhannock, on Wednesday in the winner's bracket final.

It was nip-and-tuck from the beginning with a 2-2 score after one. Towanda scored two in the second to go up 4-2, with Jersey Shore getting a run across in the third to make it a 1-run game.

Jersey Shore took a 5-4 lead with two runs in the fourth, setting up the fireworks in the bottom of the sixth.

Violet White led off the inning with single, then scored on Owen's hit. After moving to second on a passed ball Owen scored off Miller's ground out to the third baseman.

Owen (2-for-2) scored twice, and drove in a run, as Eme Maye (1-for-2) had a double, 2-RBI, and a run scored.

Olivia Willey (1-for-2) scored, and drove in a run with Ava Popovich, White (1-for-3), and Kendra Cashdollar (1-for-2) all crossing home.

Gracie Vanderpool (1-for-3), and Miller each had an RBI.

Maye started, and went two innings with five strikeouts, while Vanderpool went four innings with eight strikeouts.
