ATHENS — Towanda led early but Athens scored 17-unanswered runs to win 17-3 during District 15 Majors Baseball elimination bracket action Thursday.

Towanda led 3-0 midway through the first but Athens came back with five runs in the bottom half. They went to score four in the second, and eight in the third.

Cameron Whitson (1-for-2) doubled, scored, and drove in a run for Towanda with Logan McNeal 91-for-2), and Jagger Vargason also crossing home.

Colton Mulcahy (1-for-2), and Ben Tavani (1-for-1) each drove in a run as Cruz Olvera (1-for-2) had a hit.

Olvera started, going one-third of an inning followed by McNeal taking the mound to strike out five. Grant Nash tossed the final inning, fanning one.

Towanda ends the season 5-2.
