SAYRE — Towanda rushed for nearly 400 yards as they rolled past Sayre, 55-2, during NTL football action Friday.

Jazik Brown had 183 yards and two scores on eight carries, while Gage Evans finished with 10 carries for 118 yards and three touchdowns. Drew Maghamez, Reese Sluyter, and Curtis Maynard also had touchdown runs.

Sluyter was 3-for-5 passing for 54 yards with Shane Maghamez hauling in two catches for 44 yards to lead the Knights.

Defensively they had four interceptions, two of them by Gabe Wolf.

Brown had a 20-yard touchdown run to start things off in the first quarter with Brayden Spencer adding the point after. 

Evans made it 14-0 on a 14-yard touchdown, followed by Spencer's kick.

Sayre would get a safety to start the second quarter to make it 14-2.

Maynard followed that up with an 11-yard touchdown run, with Reese finding Joey Montonya for the 2-point conversion to make it 22-2.

Evans would have back to back touchdown runs of 13 and nine yards, followed by a Sluyter 1-yard scoring run. Spencer added the point after for a 43-2 lead at the half.

Brown would score a 9-yard touchdown run in the third, then Drew Maghamez punched one in from six yards out for the final score.

Towanda (1-0) hosts NP-Mansfield for their home opener on Friday.
