CANTON — Canton defeated CV 3-0 in their home opener during NTL volleyball action Thursday.

The Warriors won the sets 25-17, 25-21, and 25-9.

Cailyn Van Noy had 15 digs, 14 points, seven aces, three kills, and an assist for Canton as Peyton Taylor notched nine points, three kills, two aces, five assists, one dig, and one block.

Makenna Seachrist had six points, an ace, five kills, one assist, and four digs, as Danah Wesneski finished with six points, three assists, eight digs, and a kill.

Emilia Pepper had seven points, five digs, two assists, and an ace, while Hannah Walters finished with five kills, four digs, one point, and one assist.

Addy Cardona notched seven points, three aces, two blocks, and a kill, with Brenna Van Noy getting four assists, and four digs. Kaybree Kendall chipped in with a dig.

Canton lost a hard fought JV match 2-1. CV took the first set 25-13, Canton won the second 25-20, and then the Indians pulled out a 15-9 third set win.

Emilee Walker had six aces, and a kill for Canton while Lexi McMurray notched five aces, and three kills.

Raya Preston had two aces, two digs, and three assists, with Brook Murphy getting a kill, and five assists.

Bryelle Space finished with four digs, a kill, and an assist, as Elsie Pepper had three aces, and four kills. 

Lindley Sechrist notched two kills with a dig, Amelia Pepper had three digs, Nayeli Strozyk finished with an ace, and Brenna Van Noy added an assist.

Canton (1-1) is at the Tunkhannock Tournament Saturday.
