ROME — NEB couldn't find the back of the net as Wellsboro pulled away for a 6-0 win during NTL girls soccer action Wednesday.
The Hornets led 4-0 less than 11 minutes in, but NEB was able to turn the tables and pressure the Wellsboro defense.
Elizabeth Stanton made two strong runs to get past the defense only to be thwarted by Hornet keeper Jadyn Dunlap.
Early in the second half NEB had another good chance on a corner kick as Dunlap was on the ground twice with back to back saves from point blank shots.
A third Panther attempt from inside the six was snatched up by Dunlap before it crossed the line.
The second half of the second half saw the Hornets add two more goals for the win.
Haylie Smith had four goals for Wellsboro to earn the haul, while Luna Moyer and Kate Bryant also scored.
